The 6101 FIX story

Why we built it, in six tiles.

Tile 1: No app needed — report via WhatsApp. Just scan and send. Tile 2: Why wait for change? No unified GBR app yet — but you can report today. Tile 3: See it. Say it. Fix it. Tile 4: Operators can see your report and respond to it. Tile 5: Holding rail to account — see which operators respond and which don't. Tile 6: Report now — See it. Say it. Fix it. 6101FIX.CO.UK

How it works

Report a rail issue in four steps.

  1. 1

    Identify your location

At a mainline station, or on a train.

  2. 2

Take a photo and describe the fault

A short message is enough — the bot will guide you.

  3. 3

    Submit

Tap "Yes" to send your report.

  4. 4

Click the link to view your issue

You'll get a link to see your report on the website. Links are shared after 1–2 minutes to allow for moderation.

What happens next

Seen by the people who can act

Reports are immediately available to UK rail operators and British Transport Police to view and respond from the staff portal.

Anonymous by design

You'll be assigned a whimsical rail-themed username such as Calm Station Giraffe. No personal data is shown publicly.

The community decides priority

Other visitors can upvote the improvement suggestions they support most — operators see what passengers care about.

Designed with disabled people's organisations

Bot messages are deliberately short and contain no emojis — design principles drawn from input by disabled people's organisations so the service works well with screen readers.

Open to all communities

6101 FIX welcomes every community

We offer language support (beta) for the UK's top 30 most widely spoken languages — so passengers from every community can report and understand rail issues in their own language.

Bi-lingual? Help your community

If you're part of a non-English speaking community, help older generations feel included by supporting our translations — so everyone can report and understand rail issues in their own language.

Translate a few phrases

It only takes a few minutes. Review and improve the quality of messages passengers receive — your contributions go directly into the live service.
